This morning I've been fitting a new fuel filter to the engine. I'm giving it a full service to get it ready for future expeditions.
The fuel system had been "improved" by the previous owner, so I've got to re-plumb it to get the bits in the right order!
Fi painted the ceiling of the aft cabin white this morning, it's looking a lot better,
Tom cleaned up the guard rails on the starboard side, and the bottom of the locker on the aft deck.
This afternoon Fi painted the bit's tom had cleaned, Tom and fitted some studding (threaded rod) to pull the new timber into place in the bow.
It sounds simple, but it involved me standing in the dinghy alongside the boat and Tom on the inside trying to co-ordinate our actions in gale force winds!
Then we stopped for a much needed beer :D

saturday stuff
My friends Tom and Fi came to help this weekend,
I've finished off the ceiling of the aft cabin, putting the last bits of tongue and groove behind the stove pipe, and fitting the last few screws.
On saturday I sanded down the wood ready for Fi to paint it.
Meanwhile Tom and Fi were busy putting up the batten in the foward cabin, so I can put the insulation on soon :)
Then they scraped off some of the loose paint in the bows.
Tom had a look at the wind speed sensor. It's a bit like Heisenberg's uncertainty principle at the monent, you can tell the speed of the wind , but not its direction!

going green!
I decided to cycle to the boat this morning, to save a bit of diesel, i was going faster than the cars for half the journey!
I've mostly been working in the aft cabin, this afternoon I sprayed the insulation onto the back wall, and fitted some more t&g planking.
I also gave Dad a hand to remove some old screws from the foredeck. He planed the new timber to the right size this week, ready to fit under the deck

may's first monday
I'm a bit late with this one, I was too busy putting in the vast number of little brass screws that hold the Tongue and groove planking to the bulkhead. I've now got all the way across!I've also also started putting up the planking onto the ceiling, I'm going to paint this white, so i'm using some that we took down from the bow. I also put up the battern to support the wall of the Aft heads (toilet/bathroom)

Dad was racing his Jacqueline dinghy today, so it was just me working on the boat.
During the week, he has painted the wheel house doors, and been working on the foredeck.
This morning I put some more Tongue and groove on the foward bulkhead in the aft cabin, I've now done the tall part :) I'll have to make up a metal plate to finish round the exhaust pipe as I've left a 2" gap to stop it getting too singed!
I've screwed wooden batten to the opposite end of the cabin ready to insulate it and then cover it up. It's going to look a bit odd, as the window is an inch off center and not level!
